The 1th of April the DGA is making a change of practice which allows self-service terminals in betting shops without using NemID.

In Newsletter no. 5 the DGA has previously laid down the framework for the provision of land-based betting. The following is stated in Newsletter no. 5 concerning the provision of betting via terminals:

4. In betting shops and land-based casinos you may set up:
a. Terminals operated by staff.
b. Terminals where the player logs on his gaming account with the licence holder.

This will be changed to:

4. In betting shops and land-based casinos you may set up:
a. Terminals operated by staff.
b. Terminals where the player logs on his gaming account with the licence holder.
c. Terminals which are operated by the customer.

This entails that betting can be provided via self-service terminals in betting shops.

Players’ funds online and land-based must not be merged

Deposit on a player’s account must not be merged in regard to land-based and online provision of gambling. This is due to the fact that the executive order on online betting states that cash deposits cannot be accepted.

Reporting of game data to the DGA

The DGA will make a change to the standard records concerning how to report data on betting from self-service terminals, so that games from self-service terminals differ from other forms of betting. 
The DGA’s guidance on reporting of games will in this connection be updated no later than the middle of March. The guidance on reporting of games can be found here.
