NemID to be replaced by MitID
In May 2021, MitID is to be introduced to all Danish citizens and businesses. MitID will replace NemID, which is expected to be phased out by the end of 2021. The licence holders who use NemID for their customers will therefore be affected by this change.
In the future, gambling operators (private service providers) must, among other things, use a broker who will be responsible for the authentication process of the player in order to be connected to MitID. You can read more about the new requirement on the Agency for Digitisation’s website. Here you will find a site with more information for private service providers (gambling operators) on how to deal with the transition from NemID to MitID.

At the meeting, the Agency for Digitisation is expected to give a presentation on the new MitID system. We are currently working on having certified brokers present at the meeting.
