Information of updates to gaming machine programmes - 7 February 2011

The Danish Gambling Authority informs of updates to gaming machine programmes - 7 February 2011 

From Compu-Game A/S, the Danish Gambling Authority is informed of a serious error in old programmes for several gaming machine models, produced by the company. 

In special cases, the error can affect the counter on the gaming machine. 

Force Technology has stated that the error means that the gaming machines can no longer be approved. 

Therefore, it is no longer possible to legally install gaming machines. Licence holders have until 28 February 2011 to change programmes or uninstall the gaming machines according to the Danish Gambling Authority. The error affects about 850 gaming machines. 

The following gaming machines have illegal programmes: 

Programversioner

*) Compu-Games A/S have stated that no software has been made that is newer than the one that applies to Eventyrfeen, Carneval, Joker Poker Pro, Lucky Gambler, Monte Carlo, and Varité Casino. Consequently, these gaming machines cannot have their programmes updated and therefore they should be removed from the gambling premises. 

After 28 February 2011 it is illegal to have gaming machines with the above-mentioned programmes installed. The Danish Gambling Authority has informed by letter the licence holders that are affected by the error according to our records.

Information about change of programmes for Orient Expressen - 27 February 2014

From CompuGame-DAE A/S, the Danish Gambling Authority is informed of an inexpediency in the programmes for Orient Expressen. 

Thus, it is necessary for licence holders to have the programmes for these gaming machines changed as soon as possible. 

The rules for broken seals are as follows

According to the Executive Order on gaming machines section 15, a gaming machine, a top game, or a technical installation on which the seal is broken must not be used before a new inspection of it has been made. 

The Danish Gambling Authority's reaction to broken seals without new seals 

If the Danish Gambling Authority finds unsealed units or broken seals, the Danish Gambling Authority will assess the violation and ask the licence holder to put the situation in order. 

The Danish Gambling Authority will disregard broken seals for a short period 

It is decided that the Danish Gambling Authority on its inspection visits during the period from 27 February 2014 to 26 April 2014 (and only within this period) will disregard occurences of broken seals on Orient Expressen, when the broken seal is caused by the installment of new programmes on the gaming machine.

The following conditions must be met: 

The licence holder must be able to document that a resealing of the gaming machines have been ordered from one of the accredited institutes no later than when the seal is broken. 

In each gaming machine, a report that includes the following information must be present:

  • The name of the gaming machine
  • The ID number of the gaming machine
  • The condition of the counter when the seal was broken and a statement of DKK-in and DKK-out 
  • The reason for the broken seal, the date and time of when the seal was broken and a signature of the person who broke the seal 
  • The date of when the resealing was ordered 

After 26 April 2014, the guidelines described in the above section "The Danish Gambling Authority's reaction to broken seals without new seals" will be used again by the Danish Gambling Authority.

Manipulation of CompuGames's top boards

The Danish Gambling Authority has discovered that winnings can be manipulated from CompuGames's top boards to the gaming machines. 

CompuGame –DAE A/S recommends that the top boards are disconnected until a solution has been found. 

When a solution has been found, the Danish Gambling Authority will publish a new statement. 

Be aware that manipulation of gaming machines on which the basis for duty has been illegally reduced violates the rules of Act on Gambling Duty and the criminal law. 

Update - 1 May 2014

On 27 February 2014, the Danish Gambling Authority informed of the change of the programmes for Orient Expressen as a consequence of a problem with the programmes for Orient Expressen. 

Now, it appears that the problem is so severe that the counter of the gaming machines can be affected. 

The accredited institute Force Technology has stated that the error means that gaming machines of the type "Orient Expressen" with programmes older than version 4.0 can no loner be approved. 

Orient Expressen with illegal programmes must not be installed

Gaming machines with programmes older than version 4.0 are no longer legally installed. 

If you wish to continue to run gaming machines of the type "Orient Expressen",  you must change illegal programmes to legal programmes, this means that the programme versions must be at least version 4.0.

The licence holder must be able to document that a resealing of the gaming machines have been ordered from one of the accredited institutes no later than when the seal is broken. 

In each gaming machine, a report that includes the following information must be present:

The Danish Gambling Authority allows licence holders a deadline of the 15 May 2014 to change the programmes of Orient Expressen to a legal version or uninstall the gaming machine. 

After 15 May 2014, the guidelines described in the above section "The Danish Gambling Authority's reaction to broken seals without new seals" will be used again by the Danish Gambling Authority.Â
