Monthly statistics October 2024: Significant increase in gambling spend compared to last year

The Danish Gambling Authority has just published statistics on the gambling market for October 2024. Compared to October 2023, there has been an increase of 43% in gambling spend, which is due to the fact that spending on betting in October 2023 was unusually low.

The total gambling spend in October 2024 amounted to DKK 617 million, which corresponds to an increase of 43% compared to October 2023.

The statistics show that the large increase in the overall gambling market is primarily due to a change in the betting market in October 2024, compared to the same month the previous year.

This significant development is due to betting in October 2023 having an unusually low gross gaming revenue (GGR), which was caused by a very high rate of return in that month.
