Three new publications from The Danish Gambling Authority
The Danish Gambling Authority presents three new publications about gambling. Two of the publications are about compulsive gambling, and the third publication shows that most online gambling accounts are owned by younger men.
The three publications may be downloaded and have been published on the Danish Gambling Authority's website along with a number of other publications about the gambling market.
Since the Danish Gambling Authority's helpline, StopSpillet (StopGambling) opened in 2019, the advisers have received 1,185 calls. The calls show, that the cast majority of the persons who have gambling problems are men, who started gambling at a young age.
Since the Danish Gambling Authority’s register of self-excluded players (ROFUS) was established in 2012, an increasing number of Danes have chosen to self-exclude from gambling.
Data from the Danish Gambling Authority shows that most of all gambling accounts for online casinos and betting in Denmark are created by men. At the same time, the accounts are in most instances held by men under 36.
