August 2026: Decline in Danes’ total gambling spend

In august 2026, the Danes’ total gambling spend saw a year-on-year decline adjusted for changes in GDP. That is clear from the latest monthly statistics by the Danish Gambling Authority. The betting market, in particular, experienced a significant decline.

The figures show that the Danes’ total gambling spend adjusted for changes in GDP in August 2026 saw a year-on-year fall by 7.1 per cent. In the betting market, the fall was 42.7 per cent, while the online casino market increased by 12.5 per cent. Slot machines experienced a fall of 2.6 per cent while the remaining two markets, land-based bingo and land-based casinos, experienced growth of 6.4 per cent and 8.7 percent, respectively. 

The monthly statistics also include figures on the Danish Gambling Authority’s Register of self-excluded players (ROFUS) and the helpline StopSpillet.
